Charge for charging

Charge for EV charging – without becoming an electricity supplier

For apartment buildings, holiday apartments, hotels, restaurants, campsites and companies: anywhere you want others to charge – and pay – but you are not an electricity supplier.

The problem

A charger is easy to buy, but hard to share and bill fairly

  • ?How do you share one charger among several users – residents, guests or colleagues?
  • ?How do you measure and bill everyone’s consumption?
  • ?How do you avoid overloading a connection that everyone shares?
  • ?Selling electricity is a regulated activity – a landlord or restaurant owner cannot simply start doing it.

Charge for charging

Selling electricity is a regulated activity, and an ordinary citizen, landlord or restaurant owner cannot simply start doing it. In the SparkShare network energy is shared: in the app you decide who can charge, at what power and at what price, drivers pay with WTC tokens and you get the statement – without becoming a small electricity distributor with your own administration.

  • Your price per kWh, set in the app
  • Coupons for guests: free or discounted charging
  • Several chargers on one connection with DLM
  • WTC you earn can be sold back for money

The SparkShare way

Energy is shared in a community, and you set the price

  1. 1

    Install a SparkShare charger

BOXEV on the wall, CUBE where it must withstand everything, TUBE where there is no wall. A qualified electrician installs it – we gladly recommend a partner.

  2. 2

Set who, how much and at what price

In the app you decide who can charge, at what power and at what price, and you can show the charger on the network map.

  3. 3

    Drivers pay with WTC

Drivers start and pay for charging in the SparkShare app with WTC tokens – one token is one kilowatt-hour. Guests can get COMC coupons from you.

  4. 4

    You get the statement

Every session and transaction is recorded in the app. You use the WTC you earn when you charge elsewhere, or sell it on the internal market and convert it to money.

FAQ’s

Questions about charging for charging

01Do I need to become an electricity supplier to charge for charging?

SparkShare works as a community in which energy is shared: drivers pay you with WTC tokens at the price you set, and you get the statement in the app – without becoming a small electricity distributor with your own administration. For your specific case, ask us.

02How does an apartment building split the cost of charging?

Residents install shared chargers in the car park together and every user pays for their own charging in WTC. The building collects WTC, which it can sell to cover common bills, so nobody has to track individual charging or split bills among tenants.

03Can I give guests free charging?

Yes. With COMC coupons you give guests free or discounted charging for a set period or up to a set amount of WTC, and you can revoke a coupon at any time.

04What if several cars charge at once?

SparkShare DLM measures the total consumption in real time and shares the available power between the chargers, so the connection is never overloaded and no costly upgrade is needed.
